Shah Rukh does the unthinkable as he moves away from his Rahul and Raj!

10 Telly actors who made it BIG to the silver screen!
After this article, you will think twice before slotting Shah Rukh Khan as a typical romantic hero! Those who have forgotten, let me remind you that the man with dimples to die for started his career with experimental roles in films like Deewana, Darr, Baazigar and even Dil Se. Later on, he moved to do some light hearted romantic films namely Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham and many such. It happened so, that these movies turned out to be the best of his career and that fortunately (or unfortunately) won him the title of ‘King of Romance’. Now again, he is indeed a king of romance, as no one has the same charm as he has over the ladies! But hey! He is far better actor to be just put into this one single genre called ‘romance’.
While fans were enjoying his characters of Rahul and Raj in most of the films, now he is all out to shed this image of his. The badshah of romance has stepped into the shoes of a risk taker. If you are an ardent fan then you already got me! But for all those who do not follow him as closely as a fan like me, I would like to take you on a short trip of his films he has been choosing since a while. We just had Dear Zindagi and he bowled us over with his short yet charming ‘Dr. Jehangir Khan aka Dr Jug’ role. But this was just the start. The upcoming films that he has chosen to do are all just far away from his romantic-good-boy image.
Raees: The film that released earlier this year was directed by Rahul Dholakia and based on the bootlegger in Gujarat Abdul Latif. Even though the makers denied it, the character of ‘Raees’ resembles him. In this SRK returned to his old negative personality image with surma lined eyes and pathani outfit. Coming out of his ‘regular’ boyish avatar, he boldly returned to his old phase of a negative character and it was superb!
Jab Harry Met Sejal: Okay, so before you jump to the conclusion that this is a romantic movie again, let me remind you that I am talking about his character. Shah Rukh Khan has always been a charmer, no matter what. But with this flick with Anushka Sharma, he has donned the ‘kharab’ character and he is seen boasting about it unabashedly. Now playing a casanova character in 50s is something that anyone would think zillion times before doing. Here it’s the icon touted as the pied Piper of Bollywood! ()
Last but not the least (for now)
Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dwarf’ film:
Now ‘Dwarf’ is not the name of the movie but it could be easier to relate as the word went viral in no time. SRK will be next seen in Aanand L Rai’ s untitled next where he will be playing a vertically challenged person. We could still manage to gulp the roles of Raees and Harry. But a vertically challenged person? At this age? At this point of his career? Well, he is THE SHAH RUKH KHAN for a reason! The man is unstoppable and a true fan would just want him to keep experimenting through such roles. Who cares about the numbers!
So, now you know why Shah Rukh Khan aka badshah aka king Khan aka Rahul and Raj is no more ready to be known only with these cliché characters but wants us to see more of his versatility. Good going Mr Khan
