Aamir Khan's Dangal was a huge rage among the masses last year. It went on to win several accolades at leading award shows. At the 62nd Filmfare Awards, Dangal won four awards, including Best Actor for Aamir Khan, Best Film, Best Director for Nitesh Tiwari, and Best Action for Shyam Kaushal. Zaira Wasim, who played the role of young Geeta Phogat in the film was bestowed with Best Supporting Actress Award at 64th National Film Awards held last week.
Now, Dangal is all set to release in China next month that is on May 5, 2017. Aamir and Nitesh will be leaving for China tonight to promote the film. This will be Aamir's fourth film to release in China after PK, 3 Idiots and Dhoom 3. PK went on to become the highest grossing Indian film ever in China.
A source close to the project says that Aamir Khan enjoys a huge fan following in China as well. The distributor has planned a huge scale release across the country.
Meanwhile, Dangal has broken several records at the box-office and has collected more than INR 300 crore in total.
Dangal was a biopic based on the lives and times of wrestler Mahavir Phogat and his daughters Geeta and Babita Phogat and their sensitive relationship which went on to become an inspiring story. Geeta's role was played by Fatima Sana Shaikh and Babita was played by Sanya Malhotra in the film. Popular TV actress Sakshi Tanwar played the role of their mother.
